Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium is all about personalising funerals. We spend a considerable amount of time liaising with families to ensure they have as much input into the service as possible; One of the biggest changes to funerals over recent years is the choice of music that is played. More families are choosing specially recorded music rather than organ music. At Baldarroch we have a state of the art audio and visual system provides us with an ever increasing music library which currently sits in the region of 35000 pieces of music. This means we should be able to meet all of your music requirements. If we don’t have the music you require then we will simply download the music required at no extra cost to yourselves. The audio and video system also allows us to show slideshows or videos on the two 75″ TV screens in the Chapel and the two TV screens in the Foyer. However, tradition is not forgotten though and the multi faith chapel is fitted with a Viscount Envoy 35-F organ.
As a guide, we would suggest the following for the service:
- Prior to the Service. A special piece or pieces of music are played as the congregation/coffin enters the chapel. This can be recorded music or played on the organ. In addition to this it is nice to have a photograph of your loved one which can be displayed on the TV screens in the Chapel and Foyer.
- During the Service:
- Religious Services. One or two hymns played on the organ.
- Non Religious Services. Hymns can be replaced by recorded music. It is also particularly poignant to have a piece of music played as a moment of reflection during the service. This music can be accompanied by a slide show or video should you so wish. We would appreciate if you could keep the number of photographs for slide shows to approximately 30 photographs.
- On exiting from the service. A special piece or pieces of music at the end of the service as the congregation leaves. This can be recorded or played on the organ. Once again it is nice to have a photograph on display on the TV screens.
Please if you want us to display photographs on the TV screens that will require digital copies of these photographs in a jpeg format.
All services at Baldarroch are live streamed with the link to the service being sent to the applicant via the funeral director. The applicant is then responsible for forwarding the link onto those who they wish to view the service (i.e. there are no Public streams).
We will work alongside you and your funeral director and help in any way we can. Should you wish to visit Baldarroch Chapel and Crematorium prior to the service to view the chapel and discuss the arrangements please contact us on 01330 844042 to arrange a mutually convenient date/time.
